Holden,

yeah, philip glass is so amazing. his music just made those films what they are, the music and visuals worked so well together. i first came upon him while i was in art school, when a fellow student introduced me to "songs of liquid days"...an album that i still put on from time to time and find myself mezmerized by. seeing him in person was a great experience...having him perform some of his pieces, just him and his piano, was great. and being able to see him so casual and talking about his work was a one of a kind treat. he seems very easy going and down to earth...but when he performs you can definitly see the intensity in his face...very cool.

I'm also a HUGE Simon & Garfunkel fan..... Got to see them them in the Central Park Reunion tour back a awhiles.....

They still rock as a unit!

Listening to my new theme song-- "Fearless" by Pink Floyd. Boy, I had forgotten how nice old Floyd sounds through good headphones!

Well, Leilah, at least we're still here and have some interesting memories....even if there are LOTS of them...
Yeah, "Farther On" from the Late for the Sky LP was a song I really indentified with, and still do. Such poignant, poetic lyrics.
Was one of the keys to Simon and Garfunkel as well, combined with the haunting melodies and killer harmony.
I envy you seeing them live.... :hippy:

That's an even older one, Holden, as I recall. From his first album    :clap2:  It is hard to choose from so much good material.....

Recently I´ve discovered some great bands I strongly recommend:

CORVUS CORAX (all of their albums)
SALTATIO MORTIS (all of their albums)
HELIUM VOLA (all of their albums)
THE SOIL BLEEDS BLACK (all of their albums)
DEAD CAN DANCE (all of their albums)
AUTUMN TEARS (the love poems for a dying children series)
MORTIIS ("Crypt of the wizard" and "The stargate")

They play a kind of medieval-dark-ambient music that is really awesome, corvus corax and saltatio mortis play a fast medieval music with old weird instruments, when you listen to them you can´t stop thinking of jumping around, the other bands play a more quiet relaxing kind of music, very cool too.

Pink Floyd and Simon & Garfunkel.....I loved 'em too.  Couldn't listen to them today though.  I believe it to be the "snapping" theory.....or you can't go home theory.  All I can say is NICK CAVE people!  He's the best!

Love,
