bleh I am not a star treck fan, but I doubt the movie was as good as the series. Good movies today are rare, I look forward to seeing where the wild things are! OMG IT LOOKS SO KUTE! XD But a movie I appreciated, which I reccomend is ghost rider. That was pretty fun, not as detailed and goes by a little too quickly for my liking but the characters are cool and the BIKE IS AWESOME!!! I WANT THAT BIKE XD

In the Summer my eyes were opened
In the Fall I dug my grave
In the Winter I wandered into a world of wonder.
In the Spring I'll repeat the same.
But when will Autumn come?
And what will it bring?....

Well, Dan got me the Complete Original Series for xmas and we've been watching it for weeks now, and it's still as fresh as the day it was made some 43 years ago! They remastered the old film and spruced up some of the outdated 60's effects, but they didn't OVERDO it, which is nice. They enhanced the colours and redigitized some of the space scenes nicely, but they kept in in line with the technology of its day. Okay, some of the episodes are are very dated. It WAS the late 60's after all   But it beats the hell out of any of the new stuff and it comes with a whole bunch of additional behind the scenes footage. Just wish they would have included the bloopers! That would have been fun!

Thank you, Dan  :rose:

No, I didn't watch it.  I don't watch movies, but I read about it, and it gave me something of a borderline nightmare.  'The Human Centipede'.  Anyone here watch it?  Gross beyond gross, mon!  Wow!  I can't believe where imagination can travel, some times.  Not ever I could have come up with that.

I'm jealous!

For the most part, I was fairly indifferent to Star Trek. There was nothing memorable about it except the Spock/Uhura elevator scene, and I only remembered it because I didn't like it either.

I watched the trailer, and it sounds utterly disgusting, just like you said. I'm pretty impressed too. I find it fascinating how these kinds of stories play on very basic fears such as that of being dehumanized.

Anyone watched Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland? The part of me that refuses to grow up absolutely loved it. And I usually stay away from Tim Burton. I kind of sympathize with his 20 year old version of Alice. She has lost contact with Wonderland, and upon returning she can't believe that the place is real, no matter how often she grows and shrinks.
Heh.   :eyemouth:

Pretty depressing, huh?

I have seen this movie, and it is... Hmm... It is certainly interesting. Conceptually it presents some rather profound observations on the concept of human motivation and the "collective spirit", and the ending has a fascinating implication which could seriously disturb some sensitive viewers.

The non-verbal acting was very well done, but with the exception of the Japanese fellow all of the other dialogue bits are somewhat "jerky" and timed oddly, as if the actors were unsure of their cues and somewhat awkwardly ad-libbing it.

I give the film a 4 of 5 for both immersion (believability/plausability) and overall execution.

I would place it in the same category as perhaps "Luther the Geek"  :smoke:

Know what you mean about the ending.  The front end and back keel over to leave the middle left to die a slow, excruciating, barf me out the building death.

Great button pusher of a flick to show at a random get together.  'Specially if there's gonna be lot's o' chicks, considering society seems to train them to be squeamish.

Black Swan was kind of a revelation.   A psychological horror film set in the rarefied world of NYC ballet.  Excellent acting, music,  cinematography  and direction...and actually disturbing as opposed to many of the so-called horror films of our day, but also quite moving and by the end the audience seemed stunned.   Me and my friend looked at each other after we left the theater, both shuddered then continued to discuss the film over dinner which is always a good sign in my book.  I give it a thumbs up.
