Well, first I'd go for maximum tears effect with the song "Who Wants To Live Forever" by Queen.

Then, move into The Doors' "The End" with a voice-over of my last will and testament through out the song.

And, finally, the brief and quaintly poetic "Goodbye Cruel World" by Pink Floyd to end the services.

Wagner!  Oh dear, forgot about him for a moment.

SEE - ya'll should never ask me to pick music more than a few minutes in advance.

Hmmmmm, Ride of the Valkyries - yep that would be good for the parade of my corpse riding the horse!

Ooooooh a brain teaser..well, in my opinion anyway....I love it.....now let's see.......hmmmmmmm.........hey I do love "Lay Me Low".....Nick Cave.......and Black Tape absolutely adore them........You all know I am partial to Chopin's Funeral March........it's so um.........funeral.......   That WAS my original choice in another thread here @ the board.....but time for an update..........I would have to say CRUXSHADOW........"Monsters".........

Dancing in your darkness....
Dancing in your fears......
Forgetting all your hidden monsters....
Shedding all your tears..... :clap2:

Yup that would be it.........

Love,
 darky   rip    :rose:    rip

Very cool, CHss. But I got two visuals when I first read the question. The stream of chosen tunes during the initial ceremony, yeah, and then the idea of ONE specific song eternally piped underground to the casket, though I prefer cremation so it may not apply to me......but choosing just one is still unimaginable. Darkness, Darkness by the Youngbloods; Flood II by Sisters of Mercy....damn, now I'll be thinking of these all night....

Whoa-- cannot believe that someone mentioned Black Tape For a Blue Girl!!! Now if that does not take me back to the '80's.... :) Damn, music for my own funeral... hmmm.... First comes to mind "Bury Me Deep" and "Afterhours" by Sisters of Mercy. Then to drag things on, it would have to include "I Am Stretched on Your Grave" by Dead Can Dance and "Bloody Kisses" by Type O Negative.... but my true fantasy has always been having Sade sing at my funeral.... she could sing Three Blind Mice for all I would care.... just as long as she would sing over me. But since Sade will never sing at my funeral, someone just bring a wav. file from Batman, of the Joker (Jack Nicholson) saying "I'm glad yer dead" and play it over and over again.

Glad to bring the reminiscence to you, Dell. And I was about to post "I am Stretched on Your Grave"/Dead Can Dance, as well! rip

Hey Burzum...What is Sturm und Drang???

...Again, it would read more like a radio play list, and go on and on, and on.....ad infinitum.

Directly translated; "storm and stress". Originally a musical term- Goethe contra Wagner, etc. But to me it means much more than that, hard to explain. I'm sure you'll understand, though. :rose: And I completely agree with that last part you mentioned.

Great choices, everybody!

Chopin is/was very cool. Ever hear The Great Kat's speed metal version of that....it's soooo heavy.

Like others...choosing music creates quite the conundrum with me as well. So much music....

Cathedral's "A Funeral Request"....hell, the whole Equilibrium lp actually. There...thats all
Oh and Type O Negative "Gravity" (the Origin of the Feces version...Not Slow Deep and Hard), And My Dying Bride "The Crown oF Sympathy", and Hungry Lucy "bed of Flames", Pink Floyd "Signs of life" and "learning to fly", and arghhhhhhh... :banghead:
