Thanky very muchly, Morgan....
You have my undying gratitude for your encouragement, especially since you write so well yourself  :color:

Dear PaleLady,
You entered into my thoughts when i began
my current episode of posting--right off the bat i noticed how you sign your name between two tombstones--i had just come up with that idea for myself, and shortly thereafter i discovered that to be your trademark, if you will, so i discontinued doing so at the end of my threads....afterall. the idea first belonged to you, and i wished to leave you to your originality.  Never-the-less, it is little things like that which sometimes tip me off to possible affinities, or to some future business that might be in the offing, and so upon occasion i found myself to be wondering about you....
And then i read a post by you that stated that you might not be with us very longer here at the Westgate....and i am not exactly sure what that means.....so many different things that phrase could mean- not just to us but to you as well-but even if it is something positive, i got this feeling of foreboding as i read it.... i don't mean to pry but i sincerely hope that you are all right.....if you would like me to, i will try to make up a prayer on your behalf--would that be ok with you?  Either way, i thank you for what you have already said to me.

Dark salutations to one and all....
I have retrieved a different kind of prayer....impressive words by one who has named himself Necrotic here at the House of Death.  Necrotic joined the Westgate in October, 2004.  Necrotic is a War Veteran who has fought in Iraq, killing many adversaries "standing side by side with the Angel of Death in all of His glory",and he saw many others killed as well, friend and foe alike. Necrotic also helped friend and foe alike in the act of crossing over, so he is no stranger to compassion either.
He was called 'the Reaper' by his closer friends for the prayers he would say before, during, or after a firefight or attack.  Two of these prayers he has posted elsewhere in
the Obitchuaries-- i hope that Necrotic won't put an end to me for taking the liberty to post his two prayers here, as this bag of bones is hoping for another cause for its demise.
At any rate, i found Necrotic's prayers to be quite profound.  When Necrotic was battling his enemies, he would pray:
"May the Lord bless these souls I harvest.  May their passing be quick and pleasent.  May Death come quick and merciful and take my harvest with love".

Sometimes he would vary this or change it depending on his mood. as Necrotic said, "it's hard to be nice to people trying to kill you when your back is turned".  The other prayer
by Necrotic that he posted in the Obitchuaries was:

"God forgive me as I release these men in Anger - I do unto them as they wish to do unto me.  Saint Death, here's Your sorrow.  These heads I harvest, I harvest for You".

Necrotic stated that he supposed he got his prayer idea from the sniper in the movie, "Saving Private Ryan".
This goes a long way to show that soldiers are Not mindless on the battlefield, especially in Necrotic's case, and it demonstrates another way to pray to Azrael....Necrotic, I salute you.   :worm:

Dear Leilah, Lady Death,
Thank-you for the little scroll with your beautiful, "Prayer to Azrael" written thereupon.  I want you to know  that i was so moved by that prayer that i had already copied it down from this topic site and had resolved to memorize the words, as it is so moving. It shouldn't be too hard to do--it has been some time since i have participated in community theatre ( i love to say, "When are we gonna do 'Macbeth?' " in the green room)  :eyemouth:  but i think i still can commit such wondrous words to memory-- my resolution to do so makes the gift of your prayer scroll all the more significant to me.... i shall take good care of it, and i am planning to devise a means for keeping that scroll upon my person in good condition always.   :rose:

Necrotic, you must be a profound soul, indeed, and I am in awe of your ability to be not only aware, but also compassionate at what must have been some of the most frightening times of your life.  :rose:  rip  :rose:

Thanks Marcus  :rose:  I'm glad that you (and everyone else who received one) liked them.

Actually, I've been working on a few more candle designs for the full sized jar devotionals. Give me some time and I'll let you know what's up.

Thanks again  :rose:

It does'nt matter what kind of prayer you do,as long as Azrael hears your words. I pray to him as well. I come up with my own ways of prayer towards Azrael. rip

Good point, Azrael's Friend.....The most inportant aspect to all of this is connectivity to the Lord of Death.  Many times, the same words, the same ways and methods of one have no effect when utilized by another....and i am sure that there are many of us here who have our secret prayer rituals....our secret preparations.....our secret times and star configurations, our secret places.  Sometimes-- many times the same prayers said by the same person will fail and yet be successful if said by someone else who is in a better 'state' to be heard by Azreal.....many times, there is no rhyme or reason to whom Azrael selects to communicate with....the Dark Lord truly does act in mysterious ways.....never-the-less, He has commanded me to seek out others' prayer compositions and has demanded that i compose and share many of my own---here....Azreal has told me not to waste my talent and to not be selfish when it comes down to this.... i have insisted that i am not capable of doing what He has told me to do and the Reaper has insisted right back that i am more than capable and that i must share and encourage others to share as well.....apparently it is a form of preparation for something else that is yet to come---Azrael is getting me in shape for i know not what.... and i dare not disobey Him. rip

Thank you for the offer, Russalka, but it is Leilah, Lady Death who has the resources, the feedback and the talent to achieve such an undertaking as to edit a prayer book, and i hope that she does so.... i am sure it would be a great read
and a money maker too. If she chooses to do so, i would hope that she would include a number of illustrations done by
you.... as for myself, i am writing a book about the Fall of Lucifer and the War between Heaven and Hell.....would you care to illustrate that for me?  Are we talking favors or fees?
