My best days of late have been walking through the woods and taking Black & White pictures for my website...listening to some good Black Metal(Darkthrone,Urfaust,Burzum), before and after my walks has heightened the solitude of it.

Oh, by the way, Morgan, I posted two of my poems in part to fulfill your desire for more poetry not written by you.

Rest In Peace,
Andrew

I read 'em, I love 'em, and as you may note, though I do like free verse; I'm stuck on rhyme.  I already commented on 'em.  The first one was kind of funny, in a dark sort of way.  It had a good message about posers.

hm simple pleasures.

I like watching my mice, particularly after I've changed or rearranged their bedding.

I enjoy thunderstorms.  I love the energy of a good thunderstorm.

I like black tea with the tiniest bit of sage leaves in it.  (very good)

I like walking outside a dusk/twilight.  my favorite time of day.

Getting through Walmart without hearing one screaming brat.  (that is most certainly a good day.)

I love that satisfied feeling I get when I finish a book/story.

No traffic at rush hour.

Am I asking for too much here? lol

One of the best things in the world that is absolutely free can be summed up in three words: a happy cat.

A good historical adventure novel!  I'm on book 5 of Patrick O'Brian's Aubrey/Maturin series, and I'm already vaguely dismayed that there are only 15 left.  I'm told they're COMPLETELY different from the movie (I didn't see it, but apparently the two main characters were completely changed.)  I'd recommend them to anyone, but especially
- anyone who likes really dry humor under really wet circumstances
- anyone who likes a well-written action scene
- anyone who's a star in their own element and completely hopeless anywhere else (Aubrey)
- anyone who revels in being a complete geek and doesn't care what anyone else thinks of them (Maturin)

Love, Columbine

Of course this can't happen in the here/now, but I think this is one to absolutely DIE for.  In a cold castle (Tech Duinn would be nice.), on a couch in front of a blazing fire, hot creamed black lichee tea on the coffee table, covered in a warm blanket, head on Thanatos'  lap, knees draped over Donn's lap (Or the other way around), with one or the other reading all the Necromantic Verses of Westgate, aloud.  Now, it that's not the ultimate. . .what is?

Oh yeah.  Back to reality.  Uh. . .I think I want to throw up now.

Simple pleasure?  Right now, it's having a sweet ferret curled in my lap.  The new boy I got a few weeks ago is an absolute love; he's not being accepted by the other 3, who just want to kill him.  He's too sweet.  He doesn't want to fight them, he just wants to be petted and held, and he'll just lay there and yaaaawn and lick you and be adorable.

*sigh* Such a cuddle-bug.  Ferret-love is so cool.   :hippy:

:asthanos:  <---  now i think *i'm* gonna throw up.

How adorable.  I have one cat who's a licker.  Unfortunately it's "lick-lick-lick-bite-bite-lick-lick-bite-bite-bite-lick-lick. . ."  Robert.  He's the one with the heavy build, and the powerful jaw.  The one that could break a small bone, if he felt like it.  (I'm surprised my toe made it out alive, when he bit it through the blanket.)  For this, I think I'd rather have a ferret in my lap.
