I am right there with you regarding those who desicrate graves. There is a cemetary near my home that I truly love, and it is my favorite haunt. Each time I visit, there are more headstones toppled over. The morons break off the urns, trash offerings. I don't understand what goes on in their heads...it is just wrong in every way.

Who knows, Pale One?  Sometimes people who are afraid of Death deal with their fear by toppling the symbols of the experience.  That makes them think that they've "conquered" it.  Or, maybe they're just jerks who have no respect for the Dead.  Some of the same things happen out here, and so I spend time straightening up what I can and letting the caretakers know what's been vandalized.  :shake: assholes :pissedoff:

I have yet to see any caretakers at my grave yard. I also try to straighten things out as best as I can.  I even went as far as calling our local newspaper to report the marked increase in vandalism, but nothing has been published yet.  Assholes is mild compared to what I would like to call them.  :cussing:

Hello TwilightMystic, 'tis good to see you again. I agree wholeheartedly that the penalty for grave desicration needs to be much more severe. In other countries you can get serious jail time, plus some other punishment.  Besides being disrespectful to the dead, it is also defacing history.  Many of the head stones tipped in my local cemetary are dated to the late 1700's.  If I could reach the caretakers, I'd gladly volunteer to patrol the place after nightfall.

Hello again palelady.I am a cemetery preservationist at a working cemetery as well as a vol. When we get troublemakers ,there are plenty of places to hide especially mausoleums.
