Shit, doesn't that make you want to pull down the whole rotten system? Now, with Sandra Day O'Conner stepping down, we're in for more of the same.  Oh, Discordia

Indeed, russalka...there goes the entire neighborhood. now Dubya will no doubt install one of his closet fundies under the guise of a "moderate conservative". Then WHAM! We'll find out exactly what he is when the next Roe vs Wade battle heats up.  :shake:  I hate this fucking country! Wish I had the bucks and circumstance to bugger on out while we still are able to travel to foreign soils.

Mine expired    Besides, it's almost impossible to emigrate with animals and an 87 year old "child" in tow...

It's not easy to be free.... sometimes it's the lone wolf that outruns the pack.... not usually, but sometimes....

Well, if we can't emigrate, we can retreat to the hills and form a compound---near a cemetery, of course!

How quickly people forget....

Frank Zappa
Broadway the Hardway (1988)
When The Lie's So Big

They got lies so big
They don't make a noise
They tell 'em so well
Like a secret disease
That makes you go numb

With a big ol' lie
And a flag and a pie
And a mom and a bible
Most folks are just liable
To buy any line
Any place, any time

When the lie's so big
As in Robertson's case,
(That sinister face
Behind all the Jesus hurrah)

Could result in the end
To a worrisome trend
In which every American
Not 'born again'
Could be punished in cruel and unusual ways
By this treacherous cretin
Who tells everyone
That he's Jesus' best friend

When the lie's so big
And the fog gets so thick
And the facts disappear
The Republican Trick
Can be played out again
People, please tell me when
We'll be rid of these men!

Just who do they really
Suppose that they are?
And how did they manage to travel as far
As they seem to have come?
Were we really that dumb?

People, wake up
Figure it out
Religious fanatics
Around and about
The Court House, The State House,
The Congress, The White House

Criminal saints
With a 'Heavenly Mission' --
A nation enraptured
By pure superstition

When the lie's so big
And the fog gets so thick
And the facts disappear
The Republican Trick
Can be played out again
People, please tell me when
We'll be rid of these men!

Sorry for the song lyrics... but they are pertinent... simply because it seems that the public at large has a blind spot when it comes to dubya and all of his lies.....

Why is it that Robert Novak - who is one of the bigger windbags full of nothing but vitriolic shit of the right..... and who was actually the one who "outed" Valerie Plame is an article - not in jail?

Why is it that Karl Rove, who was the impetus for the leak in the first place, not in jail?

Why is one reporter in jail for protecting her sources and another jumping from one stance to another in what seems like a bid to stay out of jail?

As far as I know, the first mention of an actual name was in Novak's column. Yet he still walks abroad as a free man. If the disclosing of an undercover/field operatives name is treason, is not Novak guilty?

Or once again, the rules do not apply if you agree with a certain way of looking at things or have enough money to buy your way out of it. (Or are a foul, wretched mouthpiece for whatever the current administration desires to do....)

Dubya volunteered to fire anyone in his administration found to be involved - think that will ever come to pass??

Sadly guys Australia is no better... Johnny Howard is basically George Bush's minnie me....

Not only has John Howard criticized other countries for pulling troops out of Iraq, but he has followed George like his pet dog (or bitch) and started slowly taking away our freedom.

The "War on Terror" was really just the Governments way of saying "We can let these people stand up for what they believe (As in the Muslim's) and then we will use their actions to create an investment (Iraq's Oil),"

I mean Suddam Hussein was a slightly (OK Deranged) moral-less man, but his dtermination was unfaultering even to the noose. I've seen that video and I have to admit, he did make a good point when he said "If you want to kill me, show me your face.... COWARDS!"

I feel sorry for him to a point because his downfall was caused by blatant lies. We've all heard about the American Intelligence Services and I am positive that they knew full well that there were no weapons of Mass Destruction in Iraq.

If anything the true weapon of Mass Destruction was the stigma and fear caused by accusations against Muslims. If they think that the Koran is evil, try reading the Bible. With both of those books you can make a Terrorist Handbook...

I blame the world's current circumstances on greed and stupidity....

Sorry I had to speak my mind....

Amorte!
