I want to kill only the things that can die.
Divinity has a lot of trouble dying, and so I won't try to kill it.
Divinity, though it cannot die, is always mutable.  That which the religious gives one face or three actually possesses an infinite number of faces.
Harden it with dogma, and it can kill more than your body, it can kill you.

The face of the water shows many faces to the light.
Why can't spiritual understanding of divinity be as simple as this?

I'll assume people are too cowed by tradition and not rocking the boat to question what they've been taught for fear of being ostracised.  It doesn't even occur some to question what they've been taught for fear of being damned to hell, since theirs is the only way that can be correct.

I like my way better.  I see all the worlds religions like a deck of cards, and I picked the two cards (deities) who mow my lawn the best as my majors, though I have others I acknowledge and thank, and look forward to meeting.  (Azrael did visit me twice, and I can't wait to meet Macha, Artemis, Bastet, Anubis, Sekhmet, and Queztelcoatl among others.)

*scratches her head* Why donīt you summon them? I mean, itīs really easy if you just want it. On the other hand, there arenīt many who like to be summoned just for a chat, but I think theyīll be understanding..

Anubis is nice, but a very mysterious character when you meet him. I canīt say Iīve met anyone else though, I havenīt tried yet..Well, Bast of course, but thatīs because we had cats and she probably found it useful. NOT my decision then.

Hey Morgan,
I think you're right about people being cowed - that fear of eternal damnation. Maybe Jentzi's motto is the answer.  :headbang:  I have a question though - who is Macha?

Macha (Ch like in loch, the way the Scots pronounce it.) the Red; a Morrighan (Moree-un) sister.  (Nemain (Nemawn) and Badb (Baeve) are the other two.)  Irish war goddess.  Part time crow.  Real cool.  One of my main characters, too.  There's lots of legends about her.  She could outrun a horse, and when she tried life as a housewife and her silly husband told the king his wife could outrun his horse, the king demanded to be shown, even though she was preggers with twins.  She won the race, had the twins right after, and cursed Ulster so the men would feel the pains of childbirth during battle for a set number of generations.

According to some legends, the twins died, according to others, Macha killed them.  That was the first and last time she did anything that stupid in the mortal world, but I guess even members of the Tuatha de Danaan made their impulsive dumb mistakes in order to evolve.  (Yes, I'm being sarcastic.  They were a rowdy bunch.  Major, volatile party animals.  But what's it to you when life and death are the same.)

Why don't I summon them?  I'm sure they have better things to do than visit me just because I'm there.  It can wait.  I'd just be wasting their resources, now.  If they want to see me, they've got an open invitation, but I'm not going to make a nuisance of myself.  The last thing I need is to risk a Gatekeeper telling me to "Get a life."

I agree that calling up transdimensionals just because you feel like it is kind of rude.  If I need help, I'll ask, but if I just need to remind myself that I'm linked in, I stick my toe in their pond, just send a few ripples - I'm still here, glad you're here, that sort of thing.

As for killing God, Harlan Ellison did a pretty good job in Deathbird Stories.  Alas, there seems to be a Law of Conservation of Gods in his universe...

For all I remember, Macha died after giving birth to the twins, but I canīt remember what happened to them, exactly..Hole in my head today.

Here's the race of Macha myth:
http://www.celtictale.com/our_gods/macha.htm

Depends on the story you read, if she died or not.  There's soooo many versions of the stories, it's enough to drive you nuts.  Who knows what the originals were, but there are quite a few Macha stories.  She was also the greatest ruler Ulster ever had.

"God is dead." --Nietzsche

"And no one cares." --NIN

Sorry, I've become an Athiest as of late, and I only wish I had a plan as to how to educate the rest of the population upon it all. But empty minds believe almost anything that you feed them. *shrugs* I do not believe that we can rid the world of organized religion. It just cannot be done. Too many sheeple, too little time (for us).
