Here's what I think....
When we moved here, our neighbors told us that no one had ever lived in this house for more than two years.
This house was built in 1985, so that means a LOT of people have lived here in a very short period of time. That room was obviously a child's room, owing to the size and the fact that everything out here is very traditional.
I've been picking up on many names in that room. One of which I recognize as the name of one of the children that lived here when we first bought the house from the Moores in 2007.
It is MY belief, that owing to the circumstances that spurred the attack on Dan, that we are dealing with the spirit of a young girl who was sexually molested in that room by a family member, a step-father to be exact.
Her name is/was Emily and her attacker's name is/was, Howard. The events took place between when she was 10 to 15 years of age. She viewed Dan's advances as the same kind of attack she was subject to when she lived here. This never happened to us before simply because we NEVER hang out in that room. It is exclusively used for sleeping and nothing more. We "awakened" something simply by what we did in that room that day.
Since the attacked, we have experienced poltergeist activity, such as Dan's bed coverings being thrown about the room, the closet doors opening on their own, shades that were drawn, being fully opened, etc.
She wants ATTENTION, and she has got it. Now we have to see if we can set here free from her memories so that she can go on to where she needs to be...in peace.
Such a story is really not that unique considering where we live and some of the things that go on around here.
Everyone knows everyone out here, so one of the things I'd like to do, to corroborate my belief is ask the neighbors who have all lived here FOREVER, about some of the people who have lived here...their names, gossip, etc.
I'll keep you posted! Dan slept on the sofa last night!
